Existence is meant to be fun. It doesn’t go anywhere it just is.
Once we’ve reached a milestone,
What’s next?
We instantly move onto chasing another goal,
Hoping we can make it.
The world promotes this ‘hustle’,
and makes it seem like it’s the only way one can achieve something.
Controversial opinion- don’t hustle for a change.
Chase your goals while keeping in my mind that there is more to life than that cause.
Chasing our dreams and dedicating our very lives to a goal submerges us in an illusion that makes us forget what life is really about.
Wasting our ‘short’ lives chasing after the next best thing,
Instead of making the most of where we’re at.
Philosopher Alan watts puts it this way- “life is like a song, and the sole purpose of the song is to dance” think of it this way - we don’t listen to music or dance to music with the sole purpose of getting to the end of the song, we listen/dance to enjoy it.
A song isn’t just the ending. It’s not just the goal of finishing the song. The song is an experience.
Most people live their lives like there are 8 days in a week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Someday, dedicating their lives to a single cause in the hopes of eventually being able to quit someday with enough of what is usually money to enjoy the rest of their lives.
Someday is an illusion.
There is always something better than what you have, and the fact of the matter is there will always be something better than what you have-
There will always be a more impressive job,
a better car,
a higher pay,
a nicer home.
We’re on nothing but a hamster wheel of happiness chasing
Learn to be outside your routines,
Learn to do things you enjoy,
Learn to ‘make room for life’
A person running around is missing life
Not every week is scripted. Not every day is routine.
There are wonders to a good routine, but sometimes it can be the biggest hindrance to living.

It’s the need of the new generation that’s always wanting to do more… earn more … see more…and is always in a rush… you gotta stop and smell the roses …n there is a beautiful line from a movie that I like which says ‘ how much ever you run after reaching/seeing something you will always miss something in life for sure, so enjoy what you have in the moment ‘.
This is great!
One of the best paradigm shifts I got came from a leadership book that pointed out, "Playfulness gets you out of a rut more successfully than seriousness!" Getting myself to "loosen up," relax, and do fun things has not been natural. It's been a big shift just to convince myself, "Hey, I'm allowed to 'deep-dive' on an apparently-useless-to-me topic JUST for the sheer joy of curiosity!"
And these things (rest, playfulness, enjoying the moment, etc.) -DO- often contribute to our long-term productivity. But productivity can't be the only goal we have in mind when we consciously choose each and every activity for ourselves!
Thank you--really want to see these ideas getting out there. Many people need them! (myself included.)
